Gelderland
The regional branch in Gelderland enthusiastically organises four annual meetings for its members. These meetings offer members a forum in which to catch up with colleagues and to network. There are no serious items, just informal meetings featuring an interesting speaker. The branch offers activities to promote knowledge and information about new developments within the professional field and in companies. The branch also wishes to stimulate the mutual exchange of knowledge and to promote networking. Providing an enjoyable and informal atmosphere is an important part of achieving these goals.
Limburg
The lively, regional branch in Limburg wants to offer professional colleagues the chance to meet and share their knowledge and experiences. The branch organises six annual meetings around a current theme that is discussed from a theoretical as well as from a practical standpoint. In addition, the branch aims to increase members' networking possibilities. To help achieve this, new members are introduced so that they can connect with colleagues more quickly. The branch also values the importance of good relations with the educational institutions that are active in the area, because the quality of these courses of study partially determines the future position and professionalism of this field. Within that context, the branch puts up a prize each year for the best thesis in the field of personnel management: the NVP Limburg Award.
Midden-Nederland
The regional branch of Midden-Nederland is an active club that offers a varied program of activities to its members. Included in this program are workshops geared toward a relatively small number of participants, as well as larger group activities. Some of the activities offered follow topical matters of interest. However, we also strive to provide program components that offer in-depth elements. Every meeting must also provide sufficient time and opportunity to meet and network with each other.
Noord-Brabant
The regional branch of Noord-Brabant endeavours to create moments in time, far from the hectic schedule of everyday life, where participants can gather. This branch's motto is "for meetings and to meet'. This region organises a number of annual meetings. During these meetings, topics are discussed interactively. In addition, the branch organises visits to companies that have achieved something special or unusual in the HR area.
Noord-Holland
The regional branch in Noord-Holland holds a ‘Meet & Greet' drinks evening for NVP members in Noord-Holland every first Thursday of the month. The evening is an enjoyable and relaxed way to meet other NVP members and candidate members. Everyone is welcome to drop by after 6 p.m. at
Vak Zuid, the bar/restaurant located in the Olympic Stadium in Amsterdam. In addition, the branch organises several interesting topical meetings each year.
Noord-Nederland
The members of the regional branch of Noord-Nederland work in the personnel and organisation field with a large number of companies in the provinces of Friesland, Groningen and Drenthe. This branch consists of several project groups. For example, the project group
Intervisie (a think-tank for professional development and the future) organises an opening and closing meeting each season, exclusively for NVP members. In the interim, each
intervisie group organises meetings under the supervision of a professional coach. The introduction project group organises a theme meeting for new members of the region annually. This meeting is coupled with current subject matter or an entertaining
Overijssel
The regional branch of Overijssel organises five to six meetings each year featuring a current issue. The meeting locations alternate between the region of Twente, and the cities Deventer and Zwolle. These gatherings are designed to help you easily make contact with colleagues from the region and to expand your network. You can exchange experiences with both beginning and experienced colleagues and get involved in discussions with professional colleagues and experts. In addition, we offer a get-acquainted activity for students of the University of Twente and of the institutions of higher education IJselland-Deventer, Windesheim-Zwolle and SOZA-Zwolle.
Zeeland
The regional branch in Zeeland is one of the smaller branches of the NVP. This region organises its meetings on the various islands of the province of Zeeland. During these meetings, a combination of theory and practice is presented and available time is given to exchange experiences. In order to make the meetings fit in with current affairs and the members' wishes, the region regularly assesses the opinions of participants using an evaluation form. The executive puts the ensuing information from these evaluations to work in the new programme.
Zuid-Holland
The regional branch in Zuid-Holland attracts all NVP members who live or work in the area of the province of Zuid-Holland. The branch organises six topical meetings each year. Naturally, time and opportunity are made available at these meetings to network and exchange experiences. This region will bring you in contact with professional colleagues and study programmes in the HR field. You will also be offered the chance to take part in executive management activities or in the organization of meetings.
HR Operation & Innovation
The interest section HR Operation & Innovation aims to act as a catalyst within the NVP network that will inspire professional colleagues to innovate and optimize the HR operation. This is done by stimulating a platform for people who are employed within the HR operation. The section also promotes strategic thinking on how the HR operation can contribute to the overall HR strategy. Naturally, the section also offers opportunity to exchange experiences and expertise in this professional field.
Working Environment/Terms and Conditions of Employment
The interest section Working Environment/Terms and Conditions of Employment concerns itself with the areas of terms and conditions of employment, employment relationships and working conditions. The section realizes that these areas partially overlap and operates from the premise that these disciplines are very closely connected to each other. The section organises lectures, knowledge workshops and seminars within these three related fields to contribute to the development of knowledge of professional competence among members. In addition, this interest section wishes to influence developments and legislation in the aforementioned areas, among other things, by taking part in the public debate, whether on invitation or not.
International
The interest section International stimulates the transfer of knowledge to and between members by organising a lectures series and the exchange of experiences during meetings. The subjects are chosen in such a way that the policy-based and strategic aspects, as well as the practical realization and implementation come up for discussion. This section's target group consists of experienced international HR managers and NVP members who are employed by small or medium-sized organisations and, when organising activities on an international level, are confronted with both practical and policy aspects. Many times these HR executives must find their own way, alone and under time restraints. Experience has shown that they then get caught up in technical details and concern themselves too little with policy aspects. This section offers this group of people the opportunity during meetings to exchange experiences and discuss developments.
Management Development/Human Resource Development
The goal of the interest section Management Development/Human Resource Development (MD/HRD) is to promote the professionalism of its members in the areas of MD and HRD by organizing a number of plenary meetings on various issues. In addition, the section maintains contact with other organisations active in the field of MD and HRD, and regularly informs its members of activities developed by these organisations. These organisations include the Dutch Professional Association of Psychologists (NIP), the European Federation for Management Development and the Netherlands Foundation for Management Development. The Coaching Committee is a component of the interest section MD/HRD. This committee forms the coordination point for members with questions about coaching. Through research, the committee also endeavours to test theory against practice and to organise activities, such as a research day focussing on the issue of coaching.
Government
The interest section Government organises substantive sessions for HR professionals who are employed with the government. Within this section, particular attention is given to reducing the differences between the machinery of government and the market-oriented outside world. The government wants to be more enterprising and is increasingly embracing customer-oriented and cost-conscious thinking. However, market parties are also thinking increasingly that they have something to say about public issues such as environment and ethics, and with political spearheads, such as immigration policy, reintegration of employees who have long been absent from the employment scene and the issue of integrity. In other words, they can learn from each other. This is an important fact. Yet, there are still many aspects connected with the government that need more reflection.
Strategic Recruitment
The interest section Strategic Recruitment offers an innovative platform to enable its members to recruit personnel more strategically. Through this, it attempts to bring about a better performance by the organisation. Among other things, the section organises seminar meetings that respond to topical issues and the current job market. At the moment, for instance, the section is working with the newest high-tech methods of contacting potential employers, such as Skype, MSN, Second Live, Xing, and LinkedIn.
Young Professionals
The interest section Young Professionals is specially geared towards prospective and beginning HR professionals up to 30 years of age. Whether you are studying or have just gotten into the job market, your goal is to become a competent HR professional. You possess the knowledge, or you are hard at work to gain it. However, the experience and specialised knowledge that are continually being requested, well, that's another story. Yet you still need to keep up with the ever-continuing new developments in the HR field of expertise. The Young Professionals is a network that exists for you and through you, to help you to become that successful HR professional that you aspire to be.
Self-Employment
The interest section Self-Employment focuses on the NVP members who market their services and/or products as independent entrepreneurs. These independents are active in a broad field that encompasses people, employment and organisation. In addition to providing a network function for members, this section offers a platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience across the diverse areas and fields of action within which these members operate.
The section organises approximately four annual meetings at which independents and entrepreneurs can meet. A particular theme or issue is featured at each meeting. In addition, the section acts as a sounding board for advisors who often work alone on projects and need to consult with a colleague-advisor. The section manages a digital market place, ‘En Profil', where independents can present their profiles along with their products and services. ‘En Profil' offers the possibility of engaging colleagues to help with projects too large to manage alone, or the opportunity to engage specialists.

Meetings
The NVP meetings are the ideal way to meet colleagues and become efficiently informed on issues in daily practice. Each interest sector and regional branch plans several afternoon and evening
meetings on current topics for each year, which may be attended either free of charge or for a small fee. All told these meetings total 75 annually! In addition, the National Bureau organises
refresher sessions and workshops. NVP’s weekly digital newsletter,
“NVP E-Zine” keeps you informed on current meetings, courses, job offers and vacancies.
Education, seminars and publications
The NVP offers
general HR courses (Bachelor & Master) as well as
refresher courses, often with substantial reductions for members. Furthermore it organises
seminars and workshops on new or relevant topics and provides a platform for discussion on all aspects of HR and new developments in the field. Such discussions are often presented in articles in the NVP’s professional monthly publication called
´Personeelbeleid´. This full-size magazine also keeps all members and subscribers informed of all the important developments in HR.
HR Vacancies
Via the NVP website, vacancies are brought to the attention of at least 5,000 HR professionals. An up-to-date list of the jobs on offer can be found
here. As an NVP member you pay only € 75, and for this fee, the advertisement is placed on our site for 3 months. We will gladly send an email with the newest vacancies to any members wishing to be kept informed. It is also possible to place advertisements offering or looking for traineeships. Students can
search for a trainee post and employers may offer a trainee post on NVP-Plaza. And are you looking for temporary support from an independent NVP member? Look at the independent entrepreneurs in the
"En Profil" database.
NVP Recruitment Code
The NVP Recruitment Code is NVP’s renowned document drawn up in 1979. The most important motive in drawing up the Code at that time was to better protect the applicant as the more vulnerable party in the recruitment process. The dependent position of both the applicant and the employee has changed substantially over the last few years. There is much more a sense of equality than there used to be. Applicants are also potential clients or ambassadors, who expect quality and clarity from an organization, not only when it concerns products and services, but also during a recruitment process. A ‘new style’ of recruitment code fits into this context. In consultation with the Labour Foundation (
Stichting van de Arbeid), the NVP Recruitment Code has been amended to fit the current standards within the Human Resources professional area of expertise and comprises more than simply the application process. The purpose of the code is to provide a norm for a transparent and fair recruitment and selection procedure.

National Board
The association is run by a
National Board of Management. The head office in Nieuwegein services the association. It initialises activities on current issues for all members. Furthermore, the head office contributes actively to the implementation of the association’s strategic plan and supports and facilitates the interest sections and regional branches.
International orientation
The Dutch are internationally orientated by nature. Holland boasts many international or multinational companies. European developments in social legislation, industrial relations and anything else that relates to international HR are therefore of great interest to NVP members. As a result, the NVP also organises international meetings with sister institutes in Europe and participates in the EAPM, the European umbrella body of national HR organisations.
